My Story

Hey there. I'm Bree, and I hope my story helps you understand why I do what I do, and why I strive to serve others through my art.

I am fortunate enough to spend my days photographing the precious, precocious children of Parker, Tarrant, and Dallas counties, but this was a bit of a 180 from what I always thought I would be doing.

I earned my degree in Fine Arts/Photography from TCU, believing I would work in the commercial world—advertising…design maybe...

Then I had a baby.

And it was life-changing.

Don't call me a cliche yet though, because I wasn't one of those moms who loved being pregnant, or who was super prepared. Yes, I was excited for the baby, but the pregnancy…not really. I initially became a mom years prior, when I married my husband, a widower, and fell in love with a little boy named Ian. I thought I got the best of both worlds…an incredible son without the stress of labor. I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek, but you get the idea.

Then, I had her, our sweet Addie, and I was floored. I just got it. I finally understood the magic of carrying a baby. And all of a sudden those crazy fast nine months-and the “4th trimester” thereafter-meant SO much more.

But I couldn't go back and get any more pictures of those 9 months together (I was too modest and uncomfortable to really have any photographs taken of me). I couldn't go back and hire somebody to photograph the weekend of her birth, even though it was the most amazing, emotional, and breathtaking of events.

Fortunately I got my wits about me and did hire a newborn photographer. And I have been hiring that same photographer every year since. But I don't want anyone else to look back and wish.

So that's why I'm here…to photograph these precious times, so that you can always always, always return, through your photos, to the magic of becoming a mom; whether for the first time or the fifth.

Bree is a mom, wife, daughter, sister, photographer, and Christ-follower.

She grew up in the Texas Hill Country, and has called the DFW metroplex her home for almost 20 years now. She graduated with a degree in Photography and Education and has slowly worked her way through different facets of photography to finally arrive here. At a spot where she feels she is best able to use her heart and her eye to serve clients during some of the most meaningful times of their lives.
