I've noticed recently that when new babies arrive, their sibling(s) suddenly look like teenagers. It is a phenomena…I swear. Ask anyone who has recently had their second child. Well, same goes for seeing newborns when you have a 7mo old. I walked into this sweet family's house and saw sweet Tatum and was just taken aback by how tiny she was! Like, how could my daughter have been that small only seven short months ago?
And I love it...I love photographing newborns because I just continually get reminded of the wonder that is a new baby. Their soft foreheads and wrinkly legs, the baby fuzz on their shoulders, the sounds they make as minute by minute they are exposed to something new in this big strange world. It's just a pretty lovely thing, this new life.
Tatum's parents were so kind and easy going, and clearly head over heels in love with their new baby daughter. I'm always thankful for the opportunity to meet these precious new babies.
